Assail® receives emergency registration
Atlantic lowbush blueberry
producers have received an emergency use registration for DuPont™
Assail® to control blueberry maggot.

June 1, 2009, Mississauga, Ont. – Atlantic lowbush blueberry producers have received an emergency use registration for DuPont™ Assail® to control blueberry maggot.

The emergency use approval for Assail® applies to the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island from June 1, 2009 to August 31, 2009.

Assail® 70 WP is registered at a rate of 136 g/ha to 160 g /ha, using a minimum finished spray volume of 200 litres per hectare. Assail® should be used at the higher rate for heavy infestations or dense foliage.

In lowbush blueberries, Assail® can be applied up to three times during the emergency use registration period. The crop can be harvested one day following the last application.
