Altacor insecticide label extended to strawberries

March 27, 2013  By Press release

March 27, 2013, Mississauga, Ont – Canadian strawberry growers have a new tool to fight common pests with the recent extension adding strawberries to the label of DuPont Altacor insecticide.

Now approved for use on strawberries for oblique-banded leafroller, three-lined leafroller, climbing cutworm and Japanese beetle (suppression), the addition will allow more growers to benefit from the toxicological profile Altacor offers, making it a choice for integrated pest management (IPM) programs.

“Altacor is effective at very low use rates, and it is easy on bees and beneficials,” says Ray Janssen, market segment manager for horticulture with DuPont Crop Protection. “It’s a very popular choice in an integrated pest management program.”
