January 27, 2015, Edmonton, Alta – The Alberta Farm Fresh School 2015 takes place on February 26-27, 2015, at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites on the Olds College campus in Olds.

“This annual school is the perfect place to learn more about direct market production and marketing of fruit, vegetables and livestock, as well as connect with producer peers and experts,” said Rob Spencer, commercial horticulture specialist, Alberta Ag-Info Centre, Stettler.

The school features two horticulture presentation streams and a trade show, as well as a direct market livestock presentation stream on the first day with the second day having horticulture and direct market sessions for any product dovetailed together.

“There will be lots of opportunities to take home information, share ideas, and get insightful tips and advice,” said Spencer. “The session format allows lots of time for networking and smooth, stress-free transitions between speakers. There is a full social evening (including food) on Thursday evening, featuring a visit and presentations of awards by the Honourable Verlyn Olson, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The annual general meeting of the Alberta Farm Fresh Producers Association will be held at noon on the Thursday.”
