Swede midge numbers up

June 29, 2009, Guelph, Ont. – According to a recent report from OMAFRA, swede midge numbers have exploded in Waterloo and Wellington counties.

The report states that swede midge numbers on pheromone traps in those areas have increased rapidly and, if cole crop transplants were not treated with Intercept in the greenhouse, farmers should consider initiating their treatment program immediately.
