Canadian fruit, vegetable production up
March 1, 2010 – Total sales of fruits and vegetables by Canadian farmers amounted to $1.5 billion in 2009, up 3.6 per cent or $50.5 million over 2008.

Contract cutbacks could push some growers out
February 28, 2010, Charlottetown, PEI – A major plan to beef up potato sales is well underway by the P.E.I. Potato Board and the province, but some of the air leaked out of the tires this week with the announcement that processing companies are cutting back.

Fungal fumes clear out crop pests
February 25, 2010 — A cocktail of compounds emitted by the beneficial fungus Muscodor albus may offer a biologically based way to fumigate certain crops and rid them of destructive pests.

Delegate registered for insect control on potatoes
February 25, 2010 – Delegate WG, a fruit and vegetable insecticide, is now registered for control of the Colorado potato beetle and European Corn Borer.
